New Grant County Library Plans
The Grant County Library Foundation is planning to build a new library to replace the current facility. This new library building will be a welcoming and inviting place for lifelong learners in Grant County.
Library Overview
Following a transfer agreement with the City of John Day, the new Library will be sited along the John Day River on 7th Street. The current design is for a building that is larger than the current library, easy to maintain, energy efficient and handicap accessible. The pre-design study completed in April of 2016 estimated the cost to build the new library at $3 million.
