John Day 2045 Community Vision
ABOUT THE JOHN DAY 2045 COMMUNITY VISION
The draft John Day 2045 Community Vision has been released and City Council wants your final input!
Thank you to all who shared their time and perspectives to inform the community vision. Over 200 community members shared input about what they love about and hope for John Day by participating in a survey, small group conversation, and/or November public meeting! Based on that input, the Community Vision and Focus Areas were developed to express the themes and shared goals shared by a broad range of John Day community members.
These descriptive, city-wide vision statements are intended to provide long term guidance for the City and its partners to achieve a shared vision for John Day’s ideal future look and feel. They are also a foundational part of the upcoming City strategic planning process.

The City is working with Jensen Strategies, an Oregon based consulting firm, to facilitate this vision and strategic planning process.
Read the John Day 2045 DRAFT Community Vision and take the survey today!
Your survey responses will be collected by Jensen Strategies on behalf of the City of John Day. Responses will be incorporated into summary themes or quotes, but will not individually identify anyone.
If you would prefer a written copy of the survey you can visit City Hall during business hours to pick up or turn in completed surveys there instead. Hard copies can be downloaded by clicking the 'Printable John Day 2045 Draft Community Vision Survey' link below. Please submit either a digital or paper copy survey, but not both. If you would like to type your responses, please consider using the online version of the survey.
Surveys are due by Friday, January 16, 2026
